What dermal fillers do
30%
Hyaluronic acid fillers made up 30 percent of minimally invasive cosmetic treatments in the US in 2025, second only to wrinkle relaxers.
Source: American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 2025 Procedural Statistics ReportFillers add or restore volume. Facial Tox softens lines by relaxing muscles; fillers support the skin from underneath, lifting a flattened cheek, defining a lip, strengthening a chin or softening a hollow. Most are hyaluronic acid, a substance your body already makes. It breaks down naturally over time, and it can be dissolved, so you always have a way back.
Areas we treat
Lips
Shape, definition, a little volume or better balance between upper and lower lip, matched to your face. For a taller, lifted shape, see the Russian lip technique.
Read moreCheeks and midface
Often the biggest effect for the least product; can soften the folds beside the nose too.
Chin and jawline
Brings a receding chin into balance or sharpens the jawline.
Under-eyes
Needs more caution than anywhere else. Sometimes we start at the cheek instead, or tell you filler is not the right answer.
Nasolabial folds
Usually a sign of cheek volume loss; we support the cheek first and treat the fold only if needed.
Non-surgical rhinoplasty
Smooths a bump or refines the profile without surgery. Precise work, and we are clear about what it can and cannot change.
Several areas at once?
The products we use
Mostly hyaluronic acid fillers: softer, more flexible ones for lips, firmer ones for cheeks, chin and jaw. All can be dissolved.
Collagen stimulators such as Radiesse and Sculptra are a different category. They help your skin build its own collagen over months and cannot be dissolved the same way, so we use them selectively. We tell you which product we recommend for each area, and why.
Is filler right for you
Filler suits volume loss, a wish for more definition, or one feature you would like to sit more in balance. It works well when the goal is to look like yourself, refreshed.
It is not for anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, with an active infection or cold sore in the area, or with a past reaction to filler. Some medications and conditions matter too; we go through them privately at consultation. And if a line is caused by movement, we will tell you Facial Tox is the better tool.
Your appointment
We talk through what you would like, look at your face from every angle, agree a plan and cost, then numb the area if needed. Filler goes in a little at a time with a fine needle or a flexible cannula, checking as we go. It takes 20 to 45 minutes, and most people return to normal activities the same day.
Swelling and settling
- Days 1–2
- most swelling; the area may feel firm or tender. Small bruises are possible.
- Days 3–5
- swelling eases noticeably.
- Two weeks
- the filler has settled. This is the result to judge, and when we see you for review.
Skip hard exercise, alcohol, saunas and pressure on the area for a day or two. If you notice increasing pain or skin colour changes, call us straight away.
How long filler lasts, by area
Typical ranges. The product, amount and your metabolism all make a difference.
A way back
If you change your mind
The biggest fear about filler is being stuck with a result you do not like.
With hyaluronic acid, you are not. An enzyme called hyaluronidase dissolves it, starting within hours, with most of the effect over a day or two. Dissolving is $300 per vial.
Filler migration, where filler moves from where it was placed, is usually linked to too much product, placed too shallow or too often. It is one of the clearest reasons we work conservatively.
Had filler elsewhere and not happy with it? We will assess it honestly and tell you whether dissolving, adjusting or waiting is the right option.
We would rather undertreat you twice than overtreat you once.
Why we would rather use less
The overfilled look comes from too much, too often, without stepping back to see the whole face. We use the least product that gives you a result you love, review at two weeks and add more only if you want it.

Questions
Dermal fillers, answered
How long does dermal filler last?
Typically six to eighteen months, depending on the area and product. Lips tend to last six to twelve months; cheeks, chin and jawline often a year or longer.
Does filler hurt?
Most people find it very manageable. We can numb first, and most fillers contain a local anaesthetic. You will feel pressure and small pinches; lips are the most sensitive area.
Will I look overfilled?
Not with our approach. We start conservatively, review at two weeks and add more only if you want it. Hyaluronic acid filler can also be adjusted or dissolved.
What is filler migration and how do you avoid it?
It is when filler moves slightly from where it was placed, usually from too much product, shallow placement or frequent top-ups. We use modest amounts, the right product for each area, and space treatments out.
Can filler be dissolved if I do not like it?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, which starts working within hours. Dissolving is $300 per vial. Radiesse and Sculptra cannot be dissolved this way.
How much does lip filler cost in Bellevue?
$699 for a full syringe, $449 for a half-syringe refresh and $350 for a 0.3 syringe touch-up. We confirm your cost before we begin.
How long does the swelling last?
Most swelling settles in three to five days, a little longer for lips. The final result shows at about two weeks.
When can I go back to work?
Usually the same day. If you are worried about visible swelling or bruising, book a few days, ideally two weeks, before any important event.
How is filler different from Facial Tox?
Filler adds or restores volume. Facial Tox softens lines caused by movement. Some people benefit from both.
Is there anyone who should not have filler?
Yes: anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, with an active infection or cold sore in the area, or with a past reaction to filler. Some conditions and medications need discussing first, privately at consultation.
